About the program

Seed support for startups at TRL 6 & above.

Aarohan is TIH IIT Bombay's seed support program for the startup ecosystem — backing startups with ideas, innovations and technologies across the IoT domain.

Aarohan 7.0 is deliberately focused. We're looking for startups at deployment or commercialisation stage building IoT-enabled intelligent machines and systems that sense, decide and act in the real world, alongside IoT-enabled solutions. If your system is validated in a live environment and the constraint is scale rather than proof, this round is built for you.

CAPITAL

Up to ₹1 crore

Seed support as equity or CCPS, released against milestones you define in your application.

GUIDANCE

Business and technical mentoring

Mentorship from experts across both the commercial and the engineering side of scaling hardware.

ACCESS

Labs and facilities

Access to TIH IIT Bombay facilities, labs and technology resources, as per hub policy.

NETWORK

Events and workshops

Participation in TIH IIT Bombay events and workshops, and the wider NM-ICPS ecosystem.

Application areas

Four focus areas for Aarohan 7.0.

Each area sets out what is in scope and who should apply. Read the second part closely — it describes the evidence we expect to see.

AREA 01

IoT-connected autonomous systems for manufacturing, warehousing and logistics

Who should apply

Startups with autonomous systems already deployed or pilot-validated in live industrial or logistics operations, with measurable gains in productivity, uptime, safety or cost per task.

Scope

Adaptive intelligent machines — autonomous mobile vehicles, automated manipulation and picking systems, and AI-guided collaborative machines that combine on-board perception and edge AI with IoT connectivity for remote monitoring, predictive maintenance and digital-twin integration.

Solutions should offer adaptability and reconfigurability, not just throughput, across factory floors, warehouses, ports and last-mile logistics.

AREA 02

Autonomous inspection and field systems for agriculture and infrastructure

Who should apply

Startups with autonomous platforms tested across multiple sites, seasons or conditions — ideally already engaged with farmers, FPOs or agri-input companies, and with quantified accuracy, coverage or cost-saving claims.

Scope

Drones, ground vehicles and crawlers with embedded sensors and edge AI performing inspection, monitoring or physical field tasks in unstructured outdoor environments — power lines, pipelines, solar farms, bridges, telecom towers and industrial assets.

Also precision-agriculture machines for spraying, weeding, harvesting and crop scouting, linked to cloud or edge platforms for data capture, analytics and action.

AREA 03

IoT-enabled autonomous and assistive systems for healthcare facilities and care settings

Who should apply

Startups with deployed or clinically piloted systems in hospitals, diagnostic centres or care facilities, with documented safety, reliability and workflow-impact data — and a clear regulatory pathway.

Scope

Connected autonomous and assistive systems for hospitals and care settings: movement of specimens and supplies, automated sanitation and disinfection, patient mobility and transfer support, and sensor-driven monitoring of equipment, environment and assets.

Systems should integrate with hospital IT and IoT infrastructure and operate safely around patients and clinical staff.

AREA 04

IoT and AI-enabled solutions for animal husbandry, dairy and livestock

Who should apply

Startups with working devices or platforms validated in the field on dairy, poultry or small ruminant operations — ideally with veterinary or laboratory validation and an existing customer base among farmers, dairy cooperatives, FPOs or processors.

Scope

Sensor, wearable and vision-based systems for livestock health, welfare, reproduction and productivity monitoring — early disease and heat detection, feed and nutrition management, milk quality and yield monitoring, and cold-chain and traceability for milk and animal products.

Also automation and autonomous machines in dairy, poultry, fisheries and aquaculture: automated feeding, milking, cleaning and environment control using IoT-enabled devices and AI analytics.

Who can apply

Five conditions. All are mandatory.

Your startup must meet every one of the following to be considered for Aarohan 7.0.

All five conditions must be met
01
DPIIT recognised, or eligible to be

The startup is recognised by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade — or submits an undertaking that it is eligible to be recognised by DPIIT.

02
At least 51% Indian promoter shareholding

Shareholding by Indian promoters must be at least 51% at the time of application, as per the Companies Act 2013 and SEBI (ICDR) Regulations 2018.

03
Technology at the core, within the IoT domain

The startup uses technology in its core product, service, business model, distribution model or methodology to solve the problem it targets, and operates in the technology area of IoT. Preference is given to startups creating innovative solutions in TIH IIT Bombay's technology focus areas.

04
Product at TRL 6 or above

Technology Readiness Level 6 means the system has been demonstrated in a relevant environment — working in conditions close to real deployment, not only on a bench.

05
No investment from another NM-ICPS TIH

The startup has not raised investment from any other Technology Innovation Hub set up under NM-ICPS. Grant support received from a TIH does not affect eligibility.

What to prepare

Documents to submit with your application.

Assemble these before you open the form — it is the step that most often holds applicants up.

Certificate of Incorporation
Memorandum of Association
Articles of Association
PAN card of the organisation
DPIIT startup recognition certificate — or an undertaking that the startup is eligible for recognition
Annual financial statements (balance sheet and P&L) for the last 3 years, if applicable
Shareholding pattern on a fully diluted basis, on company letterhead

Shortlisted applicants may be called for a pitch presentation. The presentation follows the prescribed format and is submitted as part of the application — so prepare it alongside everything else rather than waiting to be asked.

How it runs

From application to seed support.

01 · By 22 Nov 2026

Apply

Submit the application form with all supporting documents, your milestone-based budget and your pitch presentation.

02 · Review

Evaluation

Applications are assessed against eligibility, technology readiness, deployment evidence and fit with TIH focus areas.

03 · Shortlist

Pitch presentation

Shortlisted applicants may be called to present. The deck follows the prescribed format and is submitted with the application.

04 · Decision

Investment committee

Selected startups receive seed support of up to ₹1 crore as equity or CCPS, released against agreed milestones.
