About
To foster commercialization of technologies and bridge the gap between academia & industry specifically in the domain of IoT and IoE, the technology development vertical of TIH-IoT seeks proposals on application-oriented technologies in indigenous sensor development for healthcare and agriculture. We encourage cutting-edge deep-tech development solutions.
Support
- Project grant up to ₹50 Lakhs for duration up to 18 months
- Support for commercialization of technology
Intellectual Property
- Intellectual property rights: Any project outputs arising from the use of the grant are to be informed by the grantee to TIH-IoT for evaluation of the protection of IP rights (such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and designs). Any IP that is generated from the use of the grant will be jointly owned by TIH-IoT & the grantee.
Proposals are invited from researchers from Academia for the execution of projects based on the following problem statements:
-
a) Problem statement: Indigenous sensor development for healthcare
We are looking for solutions that address a critical challenge: the reliance on imported and expensive sensor technologies within healthcare. This dependency hinders widespread access to advanced diagnostics and monitoring and increasing healthcare burdens. We are specifically seeking proposals focused on the actual development of indigenous sensor hardware and systems at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 and above. This means solutions that have moved beyond basic research and proof-of-concept, where components are being validated and integrated for practical application. Our focus is on tangible sensor innovations that will make healthcare more accessible and affordable, with a clear potential for commercialization, and not purely theoretical / mathematical / AI-ML models.
-
b) Problem statement: Indigenous sensor development for Agriculture
We are looking for solutions to solve the critical need for indigenous, affordable, and robust sensor technologies within the broader agriculture sector. Current reliance on expensive imported sensors inflates operational costs and hinders the widespread adoption of precision farming practices. We are specifically looking for proposals focused on the actual development of sensor hardware and systems at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 and above. This means solutions that have moved beyond basic research and proof-of-concept, where component validation and integration are being tested in a relevant environment, ready for real-world application. Our focus is on tangible sensor innovations that will make agriculture more efficient and sustainable, with a clear potential for commercialization, and not purely theoretical / mathematical / AI-ML models.
-
c) Problem statement: Indigenous sensor development for future-ready Supply Chains
We are looking for solutions that address a critical challenge within global supply chains: pervasive inefficiencies, significant losses, and a striking lack of transparency. These systemic issues lead to economic inefficiencies, increased costs, and waste across various sectors. We are specifically seeking proposals focused on the actual development of indigenous sensor hardware and systems at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 and above. This means solutions that have moved beyond basic research and proof-of-concept, where components are being validated and integrated for practical application. Our focus is on tangible sensor innovations that will make supply chains more efficient and resilient, with a clear potential for commercialization, and not purely theoretical / mathematical / AI-ML models.

d) Problem Statement: Medtech devices for early diagnosis and point of care.
With this problem statement, we're looking to solve the critical challenge of healthcare's reliance on costly, imported diagnostic devices. This dependency limits access to early diagnosis and point of care solutions, increasing healthcare burdens. We are specifically seeking proposals for the actual development of MedTech device hardware and systems at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 and above. Our focus is on tangible, commercially viable innovations that will make healthcare more accessible and affordable, not just theoretical / AI-ML models.
